ENVIRONMENT RUINATION
& DEPLETION + ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES
Come on people, let’s
play our part in our new Zimbabwe and clean up our acts !!! REPORT these
illegal activities
Despite continual clamp downs by the Parks
Authorities, the illegal removal of wood, sand and stone removal continues
It is difficult to contain this and
residents can play their part by reporting information on illegal wood, sand
and stone removal.
The Parks Estate area opposite Nyamhunga
is completely denuded of trees due to illegal removal. It is illegal to enter
this area without a Parks Permit and anyone caught will be fined and/or be
sentenced.
Soon, opposite Batonga and Baobab Ext will be the same.
Illegal sand removal
from the rivers along the main road and other areas causes erosion with much
repercussion, the immediate
being - blocking
of waterways as does litter and sewage, which then poisons our water that we
drink
13/7/17
Parks requested a double up on an early
morning patrol with the KAWFT team, in a certain area where charcoal/tree
chopping was being done illegally.
Unfortunately the culprit had already
removed a lot of his illegal gains. It is hoped he will be caught and
face the courts.
Another area in Baobab Ridge ext and Game
Corridor April/May. The vehicle registration number and description was
passed on to the Authorities and follow up was made.
Please use below numbers for any environmental

PARKS RANGERS
AUGUST/SEPT 2017
Parks continue clamping down on illegal
chopping of trees, removal of stone and sand within the Kariba area with a
number of
arrests made, fines given and tools
impounded.
This is ongoing and not an easy task to
catch the culprits in the act.
Please continue phoning in or messaging
your reports to the Parks Toll free line given at the bottom of the
update.
Rangers have also been busy with Illegal
Fish Netting, which goes hand in hand with other illegal activities.
Gache, Zebra and Antelope Island as well
as the shorelines have had many arrests made, fines given and illegal materials
and boats impounded. Again, this is ongoing and not an easy task to catch the
culprits in the act.
MID OCT 2017
Parks + Parks Mana back up team along with all the
other Authorities did yet another raid on illegal activities first in the Gache
area and then on Tsetse Island.
Most of these illegal fisherman are not just that,
they are also involved in setting snares and various other illegal activities.
Over 20 people were arrested along with
10+ illegal nets.
